Is the OSI model applicable for Smart Homes? If so, can you recommend some websites to research this information?

Hi
My personal opinion is yes, devices related to Smart Homes use electrical pulses, bits, etc related to physical layer (1), the devices are using wifi or cable as medium to transmit and receive. Also these devices obtain IP addresses to be able to communicate using TCP or UDP ports and you are able to handle these devices through a device like tablets, smartphones, computers, etc using a graphical interface.
My 2 cents
