OSPF - 2 routes with same cost but without loadbalance

Hi!

I don't want to do load balance, my router doesn't have this capability. And my router is receiving 2 routes with same cost. These routes are learning from external LSAs (lsa type 5).

How does ospf decide each route will be in the route table ? Is it from the higher LSA id ? Or Router Id ? Or the Lsa heard first ?

Is there any documentation that show an answer for this ?

Thanks

Marcelo

If both routes are of equal cost, they should both be appearing in the routing table and per destination load balancing should be occurring. I guess one exception would be if they were E1 routes and they had different internal costs added to the external cost. But then they really wouldn't be equal cost routes. Is this theoretical or are you seeing only one of the two routes in your table? Or is this not a Cisco router?
