Hi,
Is there a way to control the assert-time out / prune time-out in PIM dense ?
I want to reduce the 3 min wait an interface in DM stays in prune before trying to re-forward again. Practically speaking, the 3 min time-out is leading to an unacceptable downtime in the scenario where one upstream link fails

If u'r routing protocol converges faster then u'r router would send a pim join
to its new RPF neighbor without much delay.

Thanks for the reply,
for various reasons. I did not want to relay on the routing protocol in this setup. For one, I am using ip multicast helper-map command and I want to be able to recover in the scenario where the broadcast stream dies but not the route to the source.
Anyway, I pretty much built the setup and the only peace to make it work is changing the timeout of prune state " assert timeout "
There is no 'documented' way on the CCO of doing that, but I think there is a command to change it,
