Port Channel l and Admin Group Mismatch

Hi

Is it necessary to have same Admin Group on both switches which are connected by a Port channel? i.e do they have to match exactly?

I couldn't find any documentation which confirms this.

No the admin group is local only to the switch you are configuring etherchannel. They should be the same for the ports that are being grouped together to form a particular etherchannel on the switch.
