I have two 2610 routers. RouterA in buildingA, RouterB in buildingB. RouterA has one physical serial interface with two PVC's defined: DLCI 100 (link between buildingA and buildingB) and DLCI 205 (link back to ISP for internet access). The maximum bandwidth on the serial interface is 512k. An AS/400 server is in buildingA. Users in buildingB access the AS/400 through DLCI 100. The problem is if someone starts a large FTP download in buildingA, the speed of the users connection to the AS/400 in buildingB drops and it sometimes drops packets. What's the most efficient way of making sure NO kind of connection on DLCI 205 will cause significant latency on DLCI 100. I've tried to implement priority queueing once. It seemed to help a bit, but packets were still dropped.
