Quality of Server and 2 networks on one VLAN on 6509.

We have a 1GB link between 2 sites switch to switch, which we have placed in Vlan say 500. So any device configured into Vlan 500 will use the 1GB Link.

Now on the same interfaces at both ends, i have configured a secondary ip address (new network) so that we now have 2 networks on the same Vlan 500 with 2 standby ip addresses. Is this ok?

In addition, I want the traffic on the new network to have priority bandwidth and at least 100MB QoS on the 1GB link.

Please how do I go about doing this?

Custom Queueing should be suitable for your need, it was designed to allow various applications or organizations to share the network among applications with specific minimum bandwidth or latency requirements.
