Hi,

I want to have a small RAS setup with the following requirements.

I want to know which platform will support these requirements? And how do I configure NAS for the local authentication? Iam planning to use NM-12DMM and NM4BS/T cards. Please help me in designing this.

Please note that I dont want to have external Radius for authenticaion.

Requirement: 8 concurent users

Access lines : 4 ISDN BRI lines

Platform : ????????

IOS: ???????

Authenticaion: Local in NAS.

3640 with any latest 12.1 or 12.2 IOS would be the cheapest solution if you really want to provide dialup connectivity via ISDN BRI lines and MICA DMMs. Please see the following for more :

Just make sure you replace "ppp authen pap" by "ppp authen chap" underneath group async interface, and remove the two "tacacs-server" and the two "AAA authentication" command from the global config and instead put a bunch of "username X password Y" commands in the config for those 8 users.

If you did not want to do 56K/V.90 dialup , you could setup a 2600 with NM-8AM

(8 port analog modem module) instead which might have been a cheaper solution.
