I have given ip address & clock rate on the serial interface which is the dce end. the line is up but the protocol is down.
the configuration is
interface Serial0
ip address 30.0.0.1 255.0.0.0
clockrate 64000
I have done the following test.
Router#test interfaces serial 0
... Failed - not connected problem

Is it a hardware problem?
Need I do any configuration with clocking like invert clock rate or like that.Here two routers are connected back to back.
