setting up an isp

A colleaque is currently investigating the possibility of starting an isp service in one of the west african country and would like an assistance in naming all of the Cisco equipments that will be needed to implement this project.I would appreciate any assistance that can be provided for this project.Will the same t1 dsu/csu integrated card work in west african.

I have my ISP running over 11 locations accross INDIA .

U can take a note of the following equipments u`ll deffy need first hand to start your operations...

1)A minimum of 3640/3660 seris router with IOS 12.0(7)XK1 or later (i have bgp and ospf running in all my locations

2)72xx (VXR) ---optional as ur gateway router.

3) Catalyst switches --can go for 2924 XL or further more Layer 3 subject to your taste and budget and efficiency.

4)Its beter u go for a cache engine 500 series)depends on the level and amt of caching u want.

5)since you are specific to Cisco , and if u seeking a dialup market to harness...i have configured my 3620/AS5300 as PRI and E1R2 RAS with modem cards .

6) lucent structured cabling and jack panels

7)ciscoworks 2000 with switch/wan probes as my NMS
