I am going to configure SRM for my dual MSFC2 / SUP2 Sw6509. I was reading the procedure and cisco request to have the "config-register 0x102" command for the non-designated MSFC2. Is there any particular reason for that?

Nope..You can use 0x2102 or 0x2 if you want to

Ok, I understood that the 0x2102 is the default, but cisco is recomending to have the non-designated MSFC set for auto boot by configuring 0x102 (or it may be a typo on the documentation).
Is there any rational explanation for use this type of Config-Register?
