slow ftp transfer

OK - I'm still having problems with a mid-range AIX client (100Mb connection to a 6509) that is backing up data to a Unix server (1000Mb connection to the 6509). A 4Mb FTP from the client to the server takes about 5 minutes to complete, in reverse it takes about 20 secs.........to me this says that there is a problem at the client end. I've set both cards to fixed speed, Full Duplex with no auto-negotiate.

Are there any other setting I have missed, or does anyone have any suggestions on what else I can check out?? Would flow control make a difference??

Have you tried to use another type of client?

(Win NT or other)? That way you could see if the problem is on the client side or not. You can try also an static arp entry, and testagain.
