sniffing all ports on a switch

Is there a way/command to map all traffic on a switch to one of its designated ports so that i can plug a sniffer and trace all traffic through the switch fabric. The switch is a Catalyst 3500XL.

The command is "port monitor" You can span a port or the entire vlan.
