startup config

i have a cisco 2514 running 12.2 8t ios the running config will save to startup, but on a reboot the router wont load the startup config file, it goes direct to system configuration dialog. the startup config exists and i can load it with copy start run.

is there a config, setting that should be alterd to tell the router to load the startup config

Check the config register, it has a bit setting to ignore the startup config. Normal value for a 2500 is 0x2102

thnkx it was set at 0x2141

working fine now
