all switchs are in default vlan 1. i enter "set span root'" on a 5000, the 5000 will be root with prority 8192, then if i configure other 1900 with prority 100, will the root switch will change?

The switch with the lowest priority will become the root of the spanning tree.
Normally, you do not want a workgroup switch like the 1900 to become root.
The root switch should optimally be placed in the core of your network.

you mean after the 1900's prority change to 100 low than default root prority, 8192 which set by "set spaning root", the 1900 will be the root?
