Allmost all Cisco OSes suports bgp, but not all can handle full routing tables. Which router is best in price/efectivenes and why?

Yes, It is true. All the routers are not able to handle the routing table. Basically it depends upon DRAM size and the routes which are coming from your service provider.
Normally, small routers comes with 16 MB but you can increase the RAM and you can use the BGP in small routers also.
on internet approx 70 MB is required to keep all the routes but you can ask your service provider to send some specific summerize route so that you can run it on small routers also.

bgp require you to have at least two internet connections,there for you`ll need two serials...full internet routing table is more than 100mb , you will need a router with minimum 128 mb of memory.
