We are still evaluating that. It might be validated with the initial release for CUBE support in SD-WAN.

Q:Can the CAT8K be used as an SBC for both Voice and Video Calls? Are there any limitations/shortcomings on the Video side if using it for an SBC? The customer wants a Single Edge and does not want both CUBE and Expressway, they currently use a competitor product for an SBC as a Single Voice Video Edge.

yes Catk 8k can be used for both voice and video calls as CUBE SBC. Check out more details in the CUBE config guide for media flow through/ flow around restrictions. CUBE supports limited number of codecs with media flow-through

Q:Can the Cat 8K do SRTP to SRTP Transcoding? The ISR4K could not do SRTP to SRTP Transcoding, so one of our customers went with a competitor who could do SRTP to SRTP transcoding for use as an SBC instead of CUBE.

There is an enhancement for this . SRTP-SRTP - CUBE LTI Transcoding will be supported in the upcoming 17.6 release
