On a 6500 or 4500, if you set an uplink interface to "routed" and is address is 10.10.1.1/24, can any of the other "switched" ports on the box be on the same subnet (l want to set a group of switched ports to be on the 10.10.1.0/24 network and bridge to the routed port)?

Not exactly. To route through the uplink as you described you will need a Switch Virtual Interface (SVI). Configure interface VLAN 10 for example and give it ip address 10.10.1.1/24. Put the access ports in vlan 10. Put the uplink in a different subnet and route to it through the SVI.
