URGENT HELP Error when copying database from old to new server

Two CW2k servers both with same build - applications, IDUs patches etc.

Backup old server, copy the directory '0' to the new server, use restorebackup with -force, but it comes back with the error:

ERROR(801): tar d:\cw2k\backup\0\rme\filebackup.tar exited abnormnally !!

I have tried copying the 'manifest' folders as well, but no luck. The new server will allow backup and restore of its database, as does the old server. But the backup file from the old server will not restore on the new server.

Is there something else I can do??

Is there another method of copying the data and restoring it on another server, something like XML?

Any help would be appreciated, as it is Friday and it must be working before Saturday.

It looks as if you had a problem with tar. But even without that I doubt your procedure will work as to my knowledge the name of the CW2k server is stored within the db.

Instead I would recommend to export the data to an CSV-File and import that one into the other server.
