According to Cisco papers this command:
"switchport voice vlan dot1p"
is used to instrucy IP Phone to send voice voice traffic on vlan 0 (with dot1q tagging and vlan Id=0). But Cisco switches does not allow "vlan 0" on any configuration commad.
Why?

Hi,
"The telephone uses priority tagging and uses VLAN 0 (the native VLAN). "
See http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat2950/12120ea2/2950cr/cli2.htm#wp3058830
I remember I've read somwhere Cisco switches should be able to receive both untagged and tagged frames for native VLAN.
So my understandig is Cisco switch should accept both frame untagged, tagged with the native VLAN ID and tagged with VLAN ID = 0 and forward all these frames to native VLAN.

Milan

Sr:
But you can not create vlan 0 on Cisco Switches an the native Vlan is vlan 1 by default (on any 802.1Q port) in Cisco Switches.
You can not also configure vlan 0 as the native vlan on 802.1Q port.

Alex
