I have an a customer with 2 Catalyst 6509 connected in trunk that uses HSRP.
Catalyst1 has CatOS 5.5.1 and the Catalyst2 has CatOs 5.5.5.
There are some Vlans configured with their default gateway on both MSFC2.
The Catalyst1 is default gateway for Vlans odd(1,3,5 etc..)and has priority 110 and Catalyst2 is default gateway for Vlans even(2,4,6 etc...)with priority 110.
My problem is this:If I add a new Vlan(10) and so configure int Vlan10 on both MSFC , all work in order only if the higher priority is on Catalyst2(CatOs 5.5.5 ?)otherwise if I configure higher priority on Catalyst1(CatOs 5.5.1)this new Vlan doesn't work. That is I can't reachable the hosts of the other Vlans.
What can it be?

Can the clients ping
- Their default gateway (HSRP address)
- Both ip addresses that are on interface vlan 10 on both MSFC's
- Other ip addresses of interfaces on the MSFC's
Can the other stations ping
- The default gateway on vlan 10 (HSRP addres)
- Both ip addresses that are on interface vlan 10 on both MSFC's

He can ping only ip address of default gateway for Vlan 1.
He can't ping default gateway (HSRP address) and the other ip address for Vlan 10 (active and standby).
But only if Catalyst 1 has higher priority.
