We would like to connect Cisco IP phones to a 3500XL switch using the Voice VLAN. If a PC is connected it should use VMPS to determine it's VLAN. Also I would like to have all PC's connected through the phone in the dynamic VLAN. Is this combination possible on the 3500 XL switch?
ThankS!

it works on the 3550. from what i've read regarding vmps and voice vlan support on the 3500xl, the 2 features are mutually exclusive. So it shouldn't work on the 3500xl. Can't find any external documentation that says this though. I'll see what I can do to have this noted in the external vmps documentation.

How would you configure that on a 3550 port? Our normal phone/PC config is like:
interface FastEthernet0/1
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 101
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,2,101,1002-1005
switchport mode trunk
switchport voice vlan 2
switchport priority extend cos 0
spanning-tree portfast
but you can't configure VQP/VMPS on a trunk. Seems like a critical omission on something like the 3524-PWR-XL.
