Hi
good ospf design when you have mimumum number of LSA advetisement in the network, like distrubute OSPF into multiple area using stub area or NSSA etc.
I hope this will clear some doubt in your mind.

Search for "OSPF Design Guide" on CCO. It's a good starting point for learning OSPF.
When I first started in Cisco networking, I found the best book for Cisco newcomers was CCNA Study Guide by Todd Lammle (published by Sybex).

Avoid injecting external routes in to your OSPF domain as they will be advertised in to your entire domain. Still if you need them, then as said go for NSSA
