Sorry if were going backward. What interface is being use for x.25 connectivity? What cable will I be needing?

Use any serial interface, including T1 or E1 interfaces. Set the encapsulation as x25. Use a cable that matches the interface. The cable is part of the physical layer, and is not dependent upon data link layer configuration.
