3548XL vs 2950-48

Any comparisons on these two platforms? I'm building a small stack of 4 48-port switches and the price point/port density/gig options look similar. Any additional features in either that are worthwhile? It appears from the tech docs that the 3500 has a slightly faster backplane, but not enough to override potential benefits of L3 knobs or other nifty gadgets in the 2950 platform.

Thoughts?

i have both types and the only (big!) difference is that the 35xx has gigabit controllers and the 29xx only has 100mbit uplinks.
