3725 Boots into ROMMON

I've noticed when I upgrade IOS on a 3725, that unless I specify 'boot system flash:<IMAGE NAME.bin>' the router will boot into ROMMON. I've verified the config register is set correctly. I've also tried having generic boot statements configured, i.e. 'boot system flash:' and 'boot system flash'. Unless I specify the image name, I'm stuck in ROMMON. Any suggestions or comments?

If there is not a valid boot system command the router should boot the first image that it finds in flash. If the router is booting to rommon it sounds like there is an issue with the first file in flash. Would you post the output of show flash?

It might also be helpfulif you post the console messages that are displayed while the router is booting.

I think I've figured it out. Here's an output from a 'show flash':

Router#show flash

-#- --length-- -----date/time------ path

1 1038 Mar 01 2002 01:18:24 +00:00 home.shtml

2 1658 Mar 01 2002 01:18:28 +00:00 sdmconfig-36xx-37xx.cfg

3 113152 Mar 01 2002 01:18:34 +00:00 home.tar

4 818176 Mar 01 2002 01:18:40 +00:00 common.tar

5 3029504 Mar 01 2002 01:18:54 +00:00 sdm.tar

6 30791532 Mar 01 2002 00:14:12 +00:00 c3725-adventerprisek9-mz.123-11.T3.bin

Before the upgrade, the system image was located at the top of the listing...afterwards it's at the bottom. I'd guess that the router tries to load the first file in flash and if unsuccessful, defaults to ROMMON.
