I have two 6500 connected to each other with ether-channel(lacp). I have no configured any static cam entries. But when doing "show cam stat" one of 6500 shows:

SEORBB0001> (enable) sh cam stat

* = Static Entry. + = Permanent Entry. # = System Entry. R = Router Entry.

X = Port Security Entry $ = Dot1x Security Entry

VLAN Dest MAC/Route Des [CoS] Destination Ports or VCs / [Protocol Type]

---- ------------------ ----- -------------------------------------------

5 01-00-5e-50-44-53 2/36,4/36,9/8,9/13-16

5 01-00-5e-7f-ff-fa 2/36,4/36,9/8,9/13-16

6 01-00-5e-50-44-53 2/36,4/36,9/13-16

6 01-00-5e-7f-ff-fa 2/36,4/36,9/13-16

110 01-00-5e-50-44-53 2/39,4/39

Total Matching CAM Entries Displayed =5

SEORBB0001> (enable)

and the second one shows:

SEORBB0002> (enable) sh cam stat

* = Static Entry. + = Permanent Entry. # = System Entry. R = Router Entry.

X = Port Security Entry $ = Dot1x Security Entry

VLAN Dest MAC/Route Des [CoS] Destination Ports or VCs / [Protocol Type]

---- ------------------ ----- -------------------------------------------

5 01-00-5e-50-44-53 2/36,4/36,9/10,9/13-16

5 01-00-5e-7f-ff-fa 2/36,4/36,9/10,9/13-16

6 01-00-5e-50-44-53 9/8

6 01-00-5e-7f-ff-fa 9/8

Total Matching CAM Entries Displayed =4

SEORBB0002> (enable)

My question is what is these mac addresses for?

It seems to be some kind of loop, since both switches point to each other in order to switch a frame, for example,to the destination mac 01-00-5e-50-44-53

If you have multicasting configured in your network, a multicast enabled router or an IGMP querier will install static CAM in your switch.

multicast is not enabled nor in the switches neither in the routers.

SEORBR0002#sh ip mroute

IP Multicast Forwarding is not enabled.

SEORBB0002> (enable) sh igmp querier information

IGMP switch querier disabled for all VLAN(s)

Can you do a "sh multicast group" and a " sh multicast router" on the switch

SEORBB0001> (enable) sho multicast group

VLAN Dest MAC/Route Des [CoS] Destination Ports or VCs / [Protocol Type]

---- ------------------ ----- -------------------------------------------

5 01-00-5e-7f-ff-fa 9/8,9/13-16

6 01-00-5e-7f-ff-fa 9/13-16

110 01-00-5e-50-44-53 2/39,4/39

112 01-00-5e-7f-ff-fe 9/13-16

Total Number of Entries = 4

SEORBB0001> (enable)

SEORBB0001> (enable) sho multicast router

Port Vlan

-------------- ----------------

Total Number of Entries = 0

'*' - Configured

'+' - RGMP-capable

'#' - Channeled Port

'$' - IGMP-V3 Router

'@' - IGMP-Querier Router

SEORBB0001> (enable)

There is some multicast application in your network. Use a sniffer to determine what it is
