We have a customer with several Catalyst 6509s. They have experienced intermittent reboots of some of their 6509's, as well as several MSFC lockups (you can't even switch console into the MSFC). Several Sup2 / MSFC2 modules have been RMA'd via TAC, but they are still having intermittent problems. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues. Code level of Sup 6.1.4 on some, 6.3.3 on others. MSFC code 12.1(8a)E5.

You can use the recovery procedure listed here

Currently 6.3.6 is recommended for sup and 12.1.8bE9 for MSFC2. Make you get the log from supervisor and MSFC crashinfo files if any. Make you also connect a console PC to log all the activities during switch reboot.
TAC is the best way to work on this issue.

This could be a DoS (denial of service) attack. There are several known exposures which could cause this. I agree that working this with the TAC is the best way to go.
