Is there a way to configur 802.1Q to extend one of the Vlans between two Catalyst 3550-48's and route between the other vlans? If so, can you point me to a configuration guideline, please.
Thank you.

Hi,
Are you trying to configure dot1q trunking between two switches and then enable routing.
Here are few URL

Hello.
I would like to configure a port on the 3550 to do dot1q trunking "and" routing at the same time ... is this possible ?
Regards...

If you are thinking of routing by creating sub-interfaces as in a router, no you cannot do it. The 3550 does not support sub-interfaces on routed ports. However, you can configure an interface to just be a dot1q or an ISL trunk and configure layer 3 VLAN interfaces to route

Thank you for the response. Configuring dot1q and layer 3 VLAN interfaces to route was the info I needed. Again, thank you.
