access-list 1 permit host 10.36.32.17 log

access-list 1 deny any log

When the above is applied to the vty 0 4 telnet interface, the access list functions work ok but do not log the message in the syslog on 3548XL IOS 12.0(5)WC11.

It works ok on 3550 12.1.22.EA4.

Any thoughts?

It may be that there is a difference in the way that logging is configured on the 3548 and the 3550. Could you post any statement in the 3548 config that has to do with logging. It would also help if you would post the output of the first page or two of show log. (I am especially interested in the status messages at the beginning of the display.)

Also I am not clear where or how you are checking for these log messages. Are you doing show log in a console or telnet session, or looking into a syslog server, or what. Where and how you are looking might change what we need to check.
