Advice on extending network

Hi,

At this moment we have at a subsite a WS-C3550-24-EMI. The gigabit interfaces are empty.

We need a extra switch in the serverroom to connect servers and uplinks to other swithes. What is the ideal 48 10/100/1000 switch. Do we need to stack or uplink. What is the benefit of stacking ?

Hi,

You can use Either of these. In stacking you will have an increased backplane and it requires Gigastack modules for that. The Gigastack works on half duplex.

Uplinking will give you 1gb full duplex connectivity.
