I have an AS5350XM at a customer location that has a PRA connected to the E1. We are having issues with analog modems connecting in where we get repeated drops as it is trying to initiate the connection. If we drop the speed of the remote modem to 9600, it connects consistently. To put a work around in place, we were hoping to drop the speed on the AS5350 side so anyone that connects in can only connect at 9600. There is a large number of sites so it is not feasible at the moment to change all the remote ends.
The following async interfaces are configured:
interface Async1 ip unnumbered GigabitEthernet0/0 encapsulation ppp ip tcp header-compression async mode interactive peer default ip address pool default ppp authentication pap ! interface Group-Async0 no ip address no group-range ! interface Group-Async1 ip unnumbered GigabitEthernet0/0 encapsulation ppp ip tcp header-compression async mode interactive peer default ip address pool default ppp authentication pap group-range 1/00 1/59
and the following lines:
line 1/00 1/59 no flush-at-activation modem InOut transport input all autoselect during-login autoselect ppp
I have tried to set the speed (and rxspeed/txspeed) under line 1/00 but get the following error message:
This command has no effect on this line; use modem AT commands instead
Does anybody know how I can limit the speed of incoming calls to 9600? I have been reading about modemcap but not finding enough information to understand it properly.
