ASR1002X RAM upgrade

Hi,

we have ASR1002x router with 4GB default RAM. We would like to upgrade it to 8 GB.

ASR1002X has 4 DRAM slots, for 8 GB configuration we should use 4x2GB DRAM.

I wonder whether M-ASR1002X-4GB= DRAM ordering will make possible to upgrade 8 GB.

is  M-ASR1002X-4GB= DRAM consists of 2 x 2 GB?

will it work with existing 4 GB RAM ?

Hi Mehmet,

When upgrading the ASR 1002-X's memory from 4 GB to 8 GB, you have to remove all existing memory DIMM's and then populate the DIMM slots with the new 8 GB memory upgrade kit.

The link below shows a table of the router's supported slots for inserting memory DIMM's.
