Bad mask /26 for address 10.23.140.128

Hello,

I am creating subnets to be used for a small office and I am getting the error, "Bad mask /26 for address 10.23.140.128"for example.  I want to create 4 x 64 address subnets starting with 10.23.140.0.  The first interface used "ip address 10.23.140.1 255.255.255.192" and it worked.  Subsequent interfaces used " ip address 10.23.140.64 255.255.255.192" and so on, and they give the error.  where am I going wrong?  Working on a Cisco Catalyst 3560.

Nevermind.  I was using the network addresses for the subsequent subnets, and not the addresses reserved for the gateways.
