My org's ISP connection is GigE with 2 vlans (commodity and internet2) on a 6500 running hybrid. I want to limit the commodity link to 175Mb. I am planning on using the PFC QoS commands below, but Im wondering if that is the most efficient way of doing this? I read accounts of L3 policing being costly to rtr resources. Should I try layer 2 policing? Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.
my config :
mls qos
access-list 135 permit ip any any
class-map match-all I1_out
match access-group 135
policy-map policy_out
class I1_out
police 173000 4196 4196 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop
interface Vlan200
description Commodity vlan
service-policy output policy_out
thnks ,

The configuration you posted is for Native IOS and not hybrid. If you are running hybrid, you cannot configure QoS on the MSFC3. You will need to configure it using the set CLI.

Hope this helps.
