BUG of eigrp ?

sun816
Level 1
Level 1

eigrp nbr relation broken and dampening fast.

log describes as below:

DUAL-5-NBRCHANGE:IP-EIGRP 10:neighbor x.x.x.x(s0/0) is up ,new adjancy

DUAL-5-NBRCHANGE:IP-EIGRP 10:neighbor x.x.x.x(s0/0)

is down,K-value mismatch

DUAL-5-NBRCHANGE:IP-EIGRP 10:neighbor x.x.x.x(s0/0) is up ,new adjancy

repeated....these errors .

Of course ,the K-value in 2 nbrs are same(and I have reconfig them as 0 1 0 1 0 0 to confirm)

So I check config and remove eigrp summary line on s0/0 :

int s0/0

no ip su e x.x.x.x 255.255.0.0 5

!

Then everythings OK,If add the eigrp summary line back ,then errors back too.

Who can tell me the reason, or it's a bug ???

Thanks

Hello,

are the adjacencies actually broken when this message is received ?

There is an enhancement in IOS 12.3 regarding EIGRP convergence called a goodby message, routers that run a lower version interpret this as a K-value mismatch. You might want to check this document (scroll down to the paragraph´Mismatched K values):

Adjusting the EIGRP Metric Weights

Mismatched K Values
