c2950 unable to transmit frames larger than 1496 bytes

We have 3 c2950g-24 switches trunked together and are having trouble sending frames larger than 1496 bytes. We have the same config as in other sites and this is the only problem site. IOS version is 12.1(19)EA1c. Are there bugs related to trnk links that I could not find? I have opened a TAC case but was curious if others have seen this problem.

What is the trouble, does it drop the frames, or does it simply count giants. If it is just a question of counting giants, this is a cosmetic bug. I cannot remember what number it is, but I have seen it before. I'll try and look it up in my archive.

But if it is dropping the frames, then that is more serious - I've not seen that.

It is actually dropping any frames larger than 1496 bytes.

With trunk, there is a header overhead. Try increasing system MTU

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/148.html#subtopic1D

we have configured system mtu to 1530 and the problem remains.

Can you try reloading the switch.
