Cat 4000/4500 Modules

Hello Guys,

Help!!! I have to order new modules for a cat 4000 still in service. Do you know if modules for cat 4500 are compatible or am i stuffed?

There are some Cat4500 modules compatible for 4000 series. Could you be more specific about what new modules you need to add?

Also, you should notice that, probably, installing these modules will require a SW update.

Thanks for the response. I actually want to add fibre modules namely the WS-X4306-GB and the WS-X4418-GB. I'm fairly sure that the switch will need a software upgrade.

No problem. They are both supported in Cat 4000.

Most off cat4500 series switch can be used on cat4000.

Check if your sup supports the card you need.
