Catalyst 6509 running CatOS 7.6.

"5/4/2004,15:24:25: RxSBIF_SEQ_NUM_ERROR:slot=2, pinnacleMask=0X1, errSeqNum=ff,source Index=0X0, errorType=0X3"

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps700/products_tech_note09186a008014f550.shtml#subtopic1u

The link above explains the meaning as well as the typical causes of the error. However, it did not

mention the effect of the error once the system is already running. The system seems to be running

well but I would like to know if I still need to try to reseat the module as recommended.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It may seems to be running well but you may have unnoticeable performance degradation etc. So, it's better to re-seat modules as recommended in the document.

It is Best to reseat the module as soon as possible...Reseating the module it is talking about 'if' it is only referring to one module should be fine..however, if more than one module is being reported then you will need to reseat _all_ module including the sups as any one module can cause _all_ or many to be reported.

Also, it is not uncommon to see a few of these on re-boot/reload.
