I have a cisco router configured for dot1q trunking (data vlan + voice vlan) on fastethernet interface. This interface is going to connect to a switchport in the catex500. which role should I assign in the catex500 config? router? switch?
In this same switch I am going to connect a CCM. Once again which role should be assigned to it? ip phone + desktop? other?
Since, you have an external router attached to this switch, it is called "router on a stick" confoguration.
So, your switch will act only as the Switch not the Router.
