CCNA to CCNA Voice

I got my CCNA about a year ago.  I took only one test to get the CCNA (I didn't do the 2 test route)

I have a few questions.

Is there ANY advantage at this point to going back and doing ICND1 to get CCENT?

Also, I believe I have to recertify my CCNA every 3 years..

I am studying for the CCNA Voice. Once I take that, I believe that is also a 3 year recertify.  Will tha extend

the CCNA as well?

Thanx for any help in advance..

Hi,

If you are good enough to solve the CCNA level questions  then no need to go back. if not then please study and take exam directly 640-802(CCNA).

But i will recommand go for ditectly to 640-802, that will test your both (ICND1 and ICND2) level of toughness.

Yes it is valid only  for 3 years.

No CCNA voice is diff. exam then CCNA routing and switching so that will not extend.

Please rate and mark answered if it helps.

HEY! THIS IS NOT TRUE!

Look here: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le0/le9/learning_certification_type_home.html

It says clearly:

CCNA certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:

  • Pass the current ICND2 exam, or
  • Pass the current CCNA exam, or
  • Pass the current CCDA DESGN exam, or
  • Pass any current CCNA Concentration exam (wireless, or security, or voice, or SP Ops), or
  • Pass any current 642-XXX Professional level exam, or
  • Pass any current Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams or MeetingPlace Specialist exams, Implementing Cisco TelePresence Installations (ITI) exams, Cisco Leading Virtual Classroom Instruction exams, or any 650 online exams), or
  • Pass any current CCIE Written Exam, or
  • Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
  • Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications

But i will recommand go for ditectly to 200-105, that will test your both (ICND1 and ICND2) level of toughness.
