does the power supply have a red led on it , did you try reseat it physically   ?

do you have a spares PS you can test in that slot , it only needs 1 to run there oir so they can be removed once 1 is left in place while its operational to test

Hi Mark,

No light at all even fan not working I tried exchanging the power chord from 1 to 2 still have the same issue luckily we have 2nd power supply which we are running right now.

Regards,

Jason

sounds like PS is dead they do go but not very often  , replaced one recently on a 65

my next move if it was in my place would be get another PS in the slot  it  will rules out everything  ,if that works you know its most likely the PS ,  unfortunately if you have no other spare , you may have to have a power down and flip the working and non working around in a maintenance window that's planned or buy another PS

theres no quick config thing here that's going to help , this is some form of layer 1 issue , the fact you tested the cabling really makes me think PS is gone or blown , usually if it has an issue but can be fixed the light goes from green to red and then you can re-seat it and it will go green again  , the fact theres no light on the PS on a working cable doesn't sound good

is your chassis under support the power supply's are covered along with the modules so you could request a replacement off your support vendor instead of buying one , or ask them can you borrow one as a test to rule out current issue

Hi Mark,

Actually now we are looking for the PS including my Ethernet module which is also down at the moment luckily again I have redundant core switch with Ethernet but most of the cisco vendor I have contacted they told me that my modules are old and now EOS from Cisco

Regards,

Jason

ah ok its too old to support , it about 5  grand a year to support a 6500 anyway , I just budgeted a few of through my var , there not cheap devices , but saying that there not the newest anymore and you could pick up a power supply for a couple of hundred online to test with or replace

always good to have plenty of spares when not under support

Hi Mark,

Yes I have coordinated with other vendor even reconditioned modules can be considered as of the moment because we don't have any options specially my Ethernet module showing this message:

2    WS-X6148-GE-TX      103.74  2.47     -     -     on    off (FRU-power failed)

Regards,

Jason

Looks like this has popped up before on a 6513 , may not be enough power to run it until the PS fixed or else that's gone too , hopefully not

I think the PS was long gone and the Ethernet module was running last few days only yesterday it went down.  My core 2 is also running on 1 PS but Ethernet module is working

try restart it with

hw-module module x boot

or

(config)#power enable switch x module x

if it doesn't come up with those command its probably gone

yup already did the command

(config)#power enable module 2

still have the same result.
