Cisco ASA Failover

Level 1

I have two Cisco 5510 Firewall  version 8.2(1) configured in HA in Active and Standby mode.

IF i will shutdown interfaces on the Active firewall of DC islolating it from network infrastructure and Make standby DR firewall as active by allowing traffic flow from DR firewall . SO when i will enable interfaces on the Active Firewall of DC will it take the standby state or it will come up with Active state .

Please help

Primary and Standby are more accurate terms to use.

Assuming you start with Primary unit in Active state (and Secondary unit in Standby state) then inducing a failover will result in Primary-Standby and Secondary-Active. Re-enabling the shutdown interfaces on the Primary will not cause it to preempt the Secondary unit and become Active. You have to manually enter the command "no failover active" in exec mode on the active unit to do that.
