Cisco LAN2LAN ISDN card using PAP

Hi,

One of our customers is using an old Cisco LAN2LAN ISDN card (version 1.4.2) on a DOS PC to access our network. We have been using CHAP for authentication and that has been working well for a number of years. However, now we want to use PAP instead, but we do not know how to change the config file to make it work.

Do any of you have an idea? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Harald

The existing isdn.cfg looks like this:

;

; Your Local Configuration

;

NAME = ROUTER1

DIALNUMBER = xx-xx-xxxxxx

INTERNATIONAL_ACCESS = 00

;LONG_DISTANCE_ACCESS = 0

;PUBLIC_ACCESS = 0

;OWN MSN = *

;ACCEPTED MSN = *

;

; Your Connecting Router Configuration

;

[PT]

;

NAME = ROUTER2

PASSWORD = xxxxxxxx

;PASSWORD = Replace with your CHAP Password and delete leading semi-colon

DIALNUMBER = xx-xx-xxxxxxx

;

SERVICE = DATA64

INACTIVITY TIMEOUT = 600 ; Inactivity Timeout

IPX = DISABLE ; Comment (add leading semi-colon) this line to use IPX

;IP = DISABLE ; Comment (add leading semi-colon) this line to use IP

MLB = DISABLE ; Comment (add leading semi-colon) this line to use MLB

INDICATED DIALNUMBER = IGNORE ; Ignore the DIALNUMBER from ISDN, take all calls

If your reverting from MS CHAP to PAP which is a clear text, check for any driver files which is required in your DOS PC. Try to simulate in alab setup if possible .
