Hi,
I want to monitor my routers using MRTG. Where can i find the OIDs for eg CPU load, latency, for the cisco routers?
Someone mentioned to me SNMPWalk... what's that? anyone care to explain more?
Thanks

MIBs and the corresponding OIDs-> http://www.cisco.com/public/mibs
snmpwalk mean polling the devices via SNMP using a NMS tool/application. If you don't have one, you can use the UCD-SNMP freeware for this.

Can you please exlpain (in short) how do I find the right OID for the value I want?
For example if I want the 5 minute CPU-overall on my Catalyst 4506 I find here:
ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/supportlists/cat4000/cat4000-supportlist.html
and in the MIB-file:
ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/v2/CISCO-PROCESS-MIB.my
that cpmCPUTotal5min gives me this value.
However, where do I go now? In ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/oid/ I can't find the value cpmCPUTotal5min in any file?
Since as far as I understand it MRTG uses the OID to locate the value.
Or did I get it wrong? Or in short, this MRTG example:
# Router CPU load %
Target[cpu.1]:1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.58.0&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.58.0:public@10.10.10.1
How did they find out that OID?

Try:
http://jaguar.ir.miami.edu/~marcus/snmptrans.html
Then plugin cpmCPUTotal5min, you will see the OID is .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.5

any detailed configuration to be posted here? i can't get the CPUTotal...

To translate to the OID, you can use the CCO SNMP Object Navigator Tool:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Mibbrowser/unity.pl
cpmCPUTotal5min is deprecated, use cpmCPUTotal5minRev instead.
