Hello,

If the platform supports stackwise virtual, you can do this:

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-3850-series-switches/q-and-a-c67-738577.pdf

You would need to check if your device supports this technology.

Hope that helps!

From Brad's reference:

Q Can I build SVL connections using a 1G interface?
A No.

Hi Joseph,

In order to use StackWise Virtual technology, switches don't have to be in the same physical location, right? All we have to do is to connect switches using 10G or 40G links, right? In addition Stackwise  virtual only available in Cisco C9500-24Q switches, right?

Thank you in advance,

Gayan

I don't know if virtual stack has a latency requirement. If it does, you should be okay if you meet that.

From Brad's it appears some 3850 IOS versions support virtual stacking too.

Hello,

Correct, 3850s support stackwise virtual. Also, I believe 9400 and 9600s now support it as well on newer versions of code.
