Sorry but according to this page only the 2955 is capable of being a DHCP server.

i have got cisco 3550/3750 and cisco 6509 with MSCF2 L3 engine II, so it is possible to make as a DHCP server? if so where can iget the related documents? i searced in cisco site, but couldn't get the configuration. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can use 3550/3750/Cat6509 with MSFC2 as the DHCP server. I have used them a lot for my Labs and set up for my customers. Our 6509 is acting as DHCP server for our LAN.

Thanks a lot, will try this option & let you, but does it work across multiple VLAN's? i mean each every VLAN i wanted to hav a different VLAN.

Yes, It will work for diff Vlans. You have to create different DHCP pools for each Vlan.

Hi Amith,

could you just post me some sample configuration, i am bit confussed. presently i have 3550 for testing purpose, so if it works well, i thought i will implement in 6509. THanks in advance,
