We are anticipating going to Gig in the near future to connect our servers..Now my question. The 2 RJ-45 cards cisco offers are:
WS-X6316-GE-TX
WS-X6516-GE-TX (x-bar)
The 6516 card has the 10/100/1000 capability. I am just curious why you would someone ever buy the 6316 card which only has the capability of just gig.
Also, What is x-bar?
Thanks

The 6316 is bus connected only (32gig) and processed centrally, the 6516 is fabric enabled which means it connects to the bus and the fabric enabling up to 256gig of throughput. Check out this link

Is that 6516 card compatible with all 6509's?
