Both cards WS-X6148-GE-TX appeared as unsupported ones. After reading documentation we decided to update device packages for Cat6000 since according to readme file WS-X6148-GE-TX with sw version 7.6(1) or later was supported. So we did it with the same unsuccessful result. Both modules appeared as unsupportde cards.

Shall we reboot server?

Sw version relñated to modules on readme file means Fw version ?

If so how do we upgrade fw version ?

Pls, need urgneto help.

Thx for help

Sorry for the typos.

I forgot to mention that CW versio is 6.1

Ensure you have all the latest patches and device updates. If you have done this and the module still isn't supported, then you'll have to wait until Cisco releases the update.

Regarding device updates we also installed all the dependent packages mentioned in cat 6000 readme file.

Where can we get info about all the "latest patches" needed for CW. An further more where can we retreive information about the current pactyhces level on Cisco Works ?

Anyway, since we think that our sw verion is later than the minimum supported, according to doc, should we upgrade card firmware?

Thx

Try this link for the latest patches:

http://www.cisco.com/kobayashi/sw-center/sw-cw2000.shtml

I finally found where the problem is.

I have Uninstalled DevicePackage for cat6000 version 5.0 (and its dependent packages).

But selecting device with CiscoView same Cat6000 oicture appears. 2 unsupported cards.

Checking About button I have realized tah Cisco voie version is 5.4u (build 41) AND ACTIVE DEVICE PACKAGE IS Cat6000 Package version 1.8.

I have reinstalled Cat6000 5.0 package device and active package is always the same 1.8. Further more, once device package v5.0 unisntalled and no other pockages for cat6000 installed (according to the lisnt of installed packages from PSU) I re-checked active package and always version 1.8 appears, no matter what kind of action we do: reboot server, close CV and CW, nothing to do Cat6000 package v1.8 is always present.

What can we do?

Seems a bug, doesn't it?

Thx

I suspect version 1.8 is the default file version for CWW, so the first thing you need is to upgrade the Device Package to V5.0, if you're having problems with doing it through the CWW web/console interface, you can download the package(s) here:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/CiscoView/cvplanner.cgi

Select Catalyst Switch/Catalyst 6000/Ciscoview 5.3,5.4,5.5

You'll need Cat6000.cv50.v5-0.zip, SwitchAddlets.cv50.v1-17.zip, and Entity.cv50.v1-4.zip. Package CatQdm.cv53.v1-7.zip will be needed to be installed IF you have CatQdm 1.6 already installed.

Ensure you download and follow the install instructions in the Cat6000.cv50.v5-0.readme file.

That file lists your card as supported:

+ WS-X6148-GE-TX (Software Release 7.6(1) or later)

I am currently adding new device packages to CiscoView. I need to update the "Entity Device Package" but cannot find Entity.cv50.v1-4.zip on CCO. Anyone know where this file can be downloaded ?

I could not locate it on the CiscoView Planner.

Follow my link above (CiscoView Planner). When you select the Cat 6000 device and version of your CV, it will bring up a list of packages, about halfway down is the Entity.cv500 package dated 09-Apr-2004.

Thanks Steve - Got it - I was looking at the Cat6000 IOS - Never thought to check the non IOS packages !

Try this:

navigate to the PSU (package support updater) delete the Cat6000 package from the list, go to the staging area and also delete all the cat6000 packages from there.

then go to:

..\Program Files\CWW6\www\classpath\com\cisco\nm\cvw\devpkgs\

delete the Cat6000 zip file from this directory if it exists.

go to PSU and do a fresh install of the cat6000 package.

Do the same for the following packages:

SwitchAddlets v1.17, CLIParser v1.3 and Entity v1.3

this should solve your problem...
