DFM Discovery Error

Hi

We have the issue that we have many switches in cw2k lms bundle. we have to renamed some switches (hostnames) with was not a problem we have correct them under RME adminstration under Import Status (Alias).

But in the DFM we have the Symptom: Undiscovered /Event DiscoeryError

What could that be? and how can i solve the Error Message?

Delete them in DFM and add it back again.

i have deleted it in the admin console but i have the error messages again. can you give more infos what i have to do?

Hi,

if you are changeing anything in DFM inventory you have to do an "Update Inventory" and a "Save Inventory" in one of the pull-down menues of the admin console. After that you can rediscover these devices.

What model switches are you running and what version of the IOS/CatOS are they running?

I know of at least one problem where Cat3524s report a "Discovery Error" in DFM. This problem is solved by an IOS upgrade.
