Dynamic IP Addressing

Hi,

I have a dynamic internet connection. I get access to the internet only if I let windows obtain ip address automatically. Is there any way I can set IP addresses manually without losing access to the internet?

Hi

It all depends upon the service provider's device which provides/take care of the ip assignment part to the clients.

I feel all of them does assign ip from a pool defined in their NAS where the clients used to get connected.

So untill unless if you get a static ip assigned by the SP to your connection or user id using which you login onto the SP network it will be difficult to predict or assign ips manually to your PC.
